Where are the parking facilities located and how do I get there?

 

LaGuardia Airport has four parking lots: Hourly Parking, Daily Parking, A Parking and Long Term Parking.  Click for an airport-wide map of where the parking facilities are located.

  • Hourly Parking is the hourly surface lot located at the east end of the airport. For directions via Google, click here. For printer-friendly directions, click here.

What types of parking are available (e.g. long term or short term) at LaGuardia and how much does it cost?

 

LaGuardia Airport offers motorists three parking options.

  • Hourly Parking, is priced for people needing to park to pick up or drop off someone at LaGuardia Airport.
  • Daily Parking, is a great parking option close to the terminals for those who want to park for multiple days within walking distance to Terminals C and D.
  • A Parking, • is a surface lot that offers both hourly and daily parking in close proximity to Terminal A.
  • Long Term Parking, located in Lot P10 offers an economical long-term option just a shuttle ride from the terminals.

 

Reserved Parking

 

Premium Reserved Parking is available in designated spaces closest to the terminals Daily Parking and A Parking. Which means that These spaces are conveniently adjacent to terminals A, C and D. Reserved Parking is available only through this website at a cost of $2 per day. We patrol our lots for unauthorized vehicles parked in our reserved areas and your license plate number is our primary means of determining authorization. For this reason, it is essential that you accurately enter your license plate number into the online booking form. In addition, the $2 per day fee is refundable as long as the refund is requested more than 24 hours prior to the reservation,

Where can I find parking for persons with restricted mobility? Is it discounted?

 

Parking for persons with restricted mobility is provided in all parking lots at LGA.

 

The parking rate for persons with restricted mobility is $5 per/30 mins with a daily maximum of $18.

What do I do if I have lost my ticket?

 

LaGuardia uses license plates to record your date of entry. When you return, simply exit through a staffed lane or press the help button on any pay machine or exit gate and explain you have lost your ticket. You will need to provide your license plate number. Our attendant will then assist you with the lost ticket process.

Are there buses between Terminals? Are there buses from the parking lots to each Terminal?

 

LaGuardia Airport has a network of buses that connect all parking lots and all terminals.  The Purple Route connects Hourly Parking and Daily Parking with Terminals B, C and D.  The Blue Route connects Long Term Parking with Terminal B.  The Red Route connects Long Term Parking with Terminals C and D.

I do not have a credit card – how can I pay for my parking? Can I pay by debit card?

 

You may pay with cash at automated pay stations or the staffed lanes in A Parking, Daily Parking and Hourly Parking. Long Term Parking is a cash-less lot that only accepts credit cards as payment.

 

Debit cards are accepted by all of our automated pay stations, unmanned exit lanes, and cashiers provided they can be used as a credit card (Visa or MasterCard logo).

Can I pay with my toll tag?

Long Term Parking Online Prepayment Questions

 

I Prepaid for my parking online; do I have to go to Long Term Parking

 

You must use only Long Term Parking if you Prepaid for your entire parking stay online. You will not need to go to a specific space in that parking lot, just pull up to the Pre-Booking Kiosk like you otherwise normally would.

 

If you paid a reserved space fee, then you should go to the lot on your reservation (Daily Parking or A Parking)

 

In every case, your online reservation will be emailed to you and will contain the name of the lot in which you chose to park.

I need a receipt for my parking. How do I get one?

 

If paying at one of the pay on foot machines on the way to the parking lots, please select the receipt button and one will be issued to you.

 

If paying on exit, a receipt for your transaction is automatically generated by the exit reader where you are inserting your card/ticket.

 

You can request a receipt from the cashier on duty at any of the staffed exit lanes.

 

If you have already exited the parking lot and need a receipt please contact the parking department at (718) 533-3850 or at parkingcustomerservice@abm.com.

 

If you booked online, your receipt is emailed to you. If you create an account, you may go in and look at your parking history, choose a transaction, and re-print your receipt at any time.

My trip was shorter than the period of time that I booked online – do I get a refund?

 

No refunds are provided for shorter stays.

My trip was longer than I anticipated in my online booking, how am I charged for the extra time?

 

You will be asked to pay the difference at the gate when you go to exit the lot. Any over-stay days will be charged the drive up rate which may not be the same as the rate you paid for online booking.

What is the cancellation or refund policy for booking online?

 

You may cancel for any reason and obtain a refund at any time, up to 24 hours before the start of the prepayment booking period by logging into your account and selecting the relevant options. Refunds are only made to the credit card that paid for the booking.

 

If you do not have an online account or you have been unable to successfully cancel your booking via your online account, then you may cancel your booking by emailing parkingcustomerservice@abm.com and providing your full name, address, and booking confirmation number or calling our customer service operator (718) 533-3850 at any time up to 24 hours before the start of the booking period. Please note our customer service operator is generally on duty from 9 am to 5 pm during the week and may not be available at all times.

 

You will be charged in full for your booking if you have not cancelled it earlier than 24 hours before the start of the booking period.

Can I reserve parking for persons with restricted mobility online?

 

No, parking for persons with restricted mobility cannot be reserved in advance. However parking for persons with restricted mobility is available for holders of valid permits or license plates in all of our parking lots. Disabled parking cannot be reserved in advance.

Is it possible to amend or cancel a booking?

 

It is possible to amend or cancel a booking. To do so go to the "Manage My Booking" section, located under 'Parking' on the Airport homepage (click here).

 

You will need the booking reference number from your booking confirmation and the email address you provided during the booking process in order to access this file. You can amend/cancel your booking up to 24 hours in advance of your parking entry date and time.

 

If you decide to extend your online booking, this will be treated as a new booking. The prices charged for the new booking will be based on spaces and products available at that point (prevailing drive up rates) and may not include the same prices as offered when the initial booking was made.

What do I need to bring with me when travelling to the parking facility?

 

Please bring the following with you to in order to ensure your online booking is recognized:

  • Take the same car bearing the license plate details you provided when making the booking
  • Bring the same credit card used to make the booking
  • Bring your reservation confirmation email with the QR code on it.

To exit the lot at the end of your stay you will need the same QR code, either on your phone or printed out.


Do you need your QR code for entry and exit, or just entry?

 

Yes, you need the QR code on exit from the lot.


Do you have to have a print out of your reservation confirmation with QR code, and/or can you use your phone for entry with QR code?

 

You do not need to have it printed out, but it is recommended.

What do I need to do when I arrive at my Long Term Parking after i have prebooked and Prepaid for my parking?

 

Drive to your Long Term Parking. Stop at the entry barrier and scan your booking confirmation QR code using the Barcode/QR code reader on the entry ticket dispenser.

What happens if my QR code is not recognized at the entry or exit barrier of Long Term Parking?

 

At the parking lot entries: If, following your arrival at your pre-booked parking facility entrance, the barrier does not rise:

  • Press the button for a Ticket from the entry dispenser and enter the car park
  • Use the intercom button located on the entry device and a representative will assist you in gaining entry.

 

At the parking lot exits: Scan your booking confirmation QR code using the Barcode/QR code reader on the exit device. If the barrier gate does not open:

  • You may owe an overstay amount. If an overstay amount is due, insert a Credit Card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover) into the credit card slot for payment processing. The barrier will then rise.
  •  

    or

     

  • If you do not owe an overstay amount and the barrier gate does not open, press the Call button at the exit terminal and a representative will assist you in exiting the car park.

How do I know my booking has been accepted?

 

On completion of the booking process you will

  • Receive your booking confirmation notice while you are still online
  • Receive an email confirmation at the email address you provided where making the online booking

 

These confirmations set out the details of your booking and include your unique booking reference number.

The online pre-booking system won't work for me, what do I do?

 

Please repeat the process from the beginning and ensure that you have followed the procedures set out. The system will prompt you in the case of some errors. The system will advise if pre-booked parking is available on your selected dates.

 

In the payment details section ensure that you have clicked on the box opposite 'I have read and accept the Terms & Conditions' to confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions.

Can I use the same credit card for more than one reservation?

 

Yes, you may use the same card for multiple bookings providing none of the booking periods overlap.

 

You must not use the same card for multiple reservations when bookings overlap.

Can I book parking in all LaGuardia Airport lots and garages?

 

At this time, pre-booking is currently available only in LaGuardia Airport’s Long Term Parking.

 

You can also pay online for the reserved space fee in A PArking and Daily Parking. This fee is $2 per day, and does not include the parking cost, which you must pay separately at a pay station or at the exit of the lot.

What happens if I stay longer than I originally anticipated?

 

When you arrive at the parking lot exit barrier, the parking system reads your QR code, checks your pre-booking file and calculates the duration of your stay. If you have over-stayed, the system establishes whether any additional fee is due. If an additional fee is due, you will be required to insert a credit card to pay the fee for the over-stay.

 

Your credit/debit card will be charged the appropriate fee for the additional time based on the drive up rate applicable on the date of your departure from the parking facility.

Purchasing your parking online

 

How do I book online?

 

Step 1: Log on to the Airport website www.parkingLGA.com and follow the links to the Parking and Online Booking pages (click here)

 

Step 2: To get a "Quick Quote" insert your date and time of arrival at the parking facility and your date and time of departure from the parking facility as well as the Terminal you will be travelling out of into the boxes provided.

 

Step 3: Click on the "Search" button.

 

Step 4: The system will check parking availability for the dates and times specified by you and, if parking is available, will

  • Calculate the duration of your expected stay
  • Display the applicable parking fee for each parking facility with parking available during your planned visit
  • Display the ability to either book a Daily Premium reserved parking space (A Parking or Daily Parking lots) for $2/day payable in advance and pay the published parking rate upon exit or prepay Long Term Parking.

 

Step 5: Check that the dates and times shown in the box above Parking Fee are correct. If any of the information is not correct click on the "Back" button to return to the "Quick Quote" page.

 

For information about each of the parking facilities available during your planned visit, click on the name of the parking facility and read the information page carefully. You are advised to print (click on the "Print" button at the end of the page) and retain a copy of this document for your selected parking lot. Click on the "Close" button when you have read the document.

 

Step 6: If the parking facility, dates, times and parking fee displayed are correct click on the "Book" button in the box specific to your parking facility/product of choice in order to proceed with your booking. Otherwise click on "Back" button to return to the "Quick Quote" page.

 

Step 7: Complete the "Personal Details" section by inserting the required information into the boxes provided. Note that you can save your personal details for future bookings by clicking on the box on the right hand side. Please ensure that the details you provide are correct.

 

You will be required to enter the license plate details of the vehicle you will bring to the parking facility.

 

Please ensure that the license plate details you enter are those of the actual car you will use on the day. The Licence Plate number is one of the ways that we verify that the person who booked the Daily Premium Reserved Parking space or Prepaid Long Term Parking is the one entering the lot.

 

Step 8: Complete the "Payment Details" section by inserting the required information into the boxes provided. Please ensure that the details you provide are correct.

 

Step 9. Click on the "Terms and Conditions" link and read carefully the document presented. Confirm that you have read the terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by them by clicking on the box opposite 'I have read and accept the Terms and conditions'.

 

Step 10: The system will validate your card details and once approval is received, will automatically issue a formal booking confirmation while you are still online, as well as send the booking confirmation to the email address you have nominated. You should print and retain a copy of this booking confirmation as it includes details of your booking and your unique booking reference number. This reference number is essential if you later need for any reason to inspect, amend or cancel your booking. . This will also have the QR code which is required for entry into Long Term Parking.

What if I don't receive a booking confirmation at the end of the process or a booking confirmation email?

 

In this case, the booking has not been completed successfully and the process should be carefully repeated.

If you completed the online process successfully but did not receive an email confirmation, please check your junk or spam folder.

 

Please make sure to write down your booking reference number. or save the email that contains the reference number, or create an account where you can find the booking reference number. Using this number, you can check your booking online any time before you travel and can amend or cancel the booking at any time up to 24 hours before your planned arrival time at the parking facility.

Am I guaranteed a specific parking space?

 

No, you cannot reserve a specific parking space.  However, by prepaying for Long Term Parking online you ensure that there will be a parking space available for you at the time and date indicated in your booking.  If you book a Daily Premium reserved parking space in A Parking or Daily Parking you will be guaranteed a space in the lot albeit not a specific space. Reserved space are marked by signs in front of the space.

  • A Parking, Daily Parking and Hourly Parking cost $5/30 minutes or $10/hour with a daily maximum of $59/day. If you book a Premium Reserved Parking space online for $2/day, you will pay for the Premium Reserved Parking online but pay for parking in the lot.

How are online parking charges calculated?

 

Online parking charges are calculated on a per-day/24 hour basis or part thereof.

 

Example: Long Term Parking

Enter parking lot: 9am Monday

Exit parking lot: 1am Wednesday

Prepaid parking charge: 2 days or $36.00 ($18.00 per day or part thereof)

 

  • In the example above, your exit time will be extended to 9am on Thursday, therefore allowing you to depart the parking garage anytime up until then without incurring an additional parking charge for this extra time.

How do I get the best online price?

 

  • Get the best online price by prepaying your parking well in advance of your parking lot entry date. Demand is high for our lowest priced offers and they sell out quickly so the lowest price offered on one day may vary from what you see on a different day.

What happens if I bring a different credit card from the card I used to make my booking online?

 

When you arrive at the Long Term Parking Lot, the primary identifier for your pre-booking is your QR code. Scan your QR code upon entry/exit and the barrier will then rise. 

 

You do not have to use the original booking credit card to pay for an overstay payment. Any accepted Credit Card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover) can be used to pay an overstay payment.

Your booking reference number is only required if you want to review, amend or cancel your booking online before you travel. It is not required to enter or exit the parking areas.

What happens if I arrive before the entry time I specified when making my booking online?

 

  • For Prepaid Long Term Parking, the system will recognize your booking up to two hours in advance of your expected time of arrival and up to 12 hours following your expected time of arrival.

 

  • For example, if you booked to arrive at 10am, the system will recognize your booking and allow you to enter the parking lot at anytime between 8am and 10pm on the booked arrival day.

What happens if I arrive at the entry to my pre-booked parking facility and a sign says that it's full?

 

  • The "Full" sign is for the information of customers who have not pre-booked their parking online.

 

  • For Long Term Parking, drive to the parking entry barrier. Present your QR code and the system will read your QR code. Provided the QR code details match those in your booking the barrier will rise and you may enter the parking facility. Should this fail for any reason, use the intercom button located on the entry device and a representative will assist you in gaining entry.

What happens if my credit card doesn't work at the entry or exit barrier of my pre-booked parking facility?

 

When you arrive at Long Term Parking, the primary identifier for your pre-booking is your QR code so the system should recognize your booking based on that. If your QR code is not recognized use the intercom button located on the entry device and a representative will assist you in gaining entry.

 

At the Long Term Parking Lot entry ensure the QR code is presented correctly to the reader provided on the entry device. Should the QR code still fail, use the intercom button located on the entry device and a representative will assist you.  If needed press the button and take a ticket. On your return to Airport and before returning to your car use this ticket to pay for your parking at any pay station. Your pre-booking may still be charged to your card account. (verify policy)

What happens if after entering the parking facility I need to leave and re-enter the parking lot again?

 

Once your QR code is detected exiting the parking facility, your pre-booking will be treated as being complete. Should you re-enter the parking facility, this will be treated as the start of a new drive up transaction. Standard drive up parking rates will then apply.

Does a shuttle bus service for Long Term Parking operate to and from the terminal?

 

For departing passengers, the shuttle bus service operates from the Valet Drop off area in Long Term Parking.  The Red Route shuttles will make stops at Terminals A, C & D.  The Blue Route shuttles will make stops at Terminals A & B. It is only a short walk from the shuttle bus drop off area to the terminal.

 

For returning passengers the shuttle bus service operates from all terminal buildings.  The shuttle bus pickup area is located on the Arrivals level in front of the terminal buildings.

 

All buses are wheelchair accessible.

How often does the shuttle bus service operate?

 

The shuttle bus service operates between all parking lots and all terminals 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.  The buses are scheduled to depart every 8 – 12 minutes.

What happens if my car won't start when I return?

 

LaGuardia Airport provides courtesy jump starts and air for our customers.  To request assistance, you may make contact using an intercom on any of the automated pay stations, blue assistance phones located throughout the parking garage or by calling (718) 533-3850.
